Automation of stress measurement and stress evaluation with program system PHOTOELAST

The photoelasticity method belongs among of the experimental methods for tension determination on the component surface and component strength as well. The application of this method evokes some problems. One of these problems is to determine correctly the spectrum of colour photoelastic fringes thereby as well their sequence and in a final consequence to determine tension separation. In this phase of experiment there are the results influenced with experimenter’s skills. For this reason we decided to substitute experimenter’s subjective skills with automation of measurement process whereby the demand came into existence that it is necessary to create and formulate mathematically the initial conditions for the creation of suitable software.
