Submodelling Technique and the Detail Structural Analysis

Abstract


The paper describes modelling of steel-concrete coupled bridge. Owing to the necessity to analyse stress distribution in structural connections of selected steel parts it was necessary to adopt the submodelling technique to overcome the problem of extreme computational demands. This philosophy uses the global model of the bridge structure in order to achieve action of loads on surrounding area of interest and further uses local submodels having a high detail in order to produce requested results. Calculation results are further compared with the strain gauge measurements carried out during the construction of the bridge.
