Author Guidelines

Submission of Papers (Electronic Submission)

The editors of the journal welcome contributions from throughout the world. Manuscripts for publication may be submitted using journal submission system. Submission of a paper implies that it has not been published previously, that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere, and that if accepted it will not be published elsewhere in the same form, in English or in any other language, without the written consent of the publisher. Language: English, Czech,Slovak (if the lanuage is not english, author should provide english title, keywords and abstract) Submission format: pdf file Page charge: At present there are no page charges for papers submitted to the Bulletin of Applied Mechanics. The upper limit on length of a paper is equal to approximately 12 manuscript pages, including tables and references (two pages for Letters to the Editor). This limit may be exceeded at the discretion of the Editor-in-Chief.

  • Blind review

    Authors may require a blind-review process. In this process, the identity of the authors is concealed from the reviewers. If submitting for blind-review, the authors of the document should delete their names from the text, with "Author" and year used in the references and footnotes, instead of the authors' name, article title, etc. With PDFs, the authors' names should also be removed from Document Properties found under File on Adobe Acrobat's main menu.

     

    Submission Preparation Checklist

    As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

    1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
    2. The submission file is in Adobe Portable Document Format (pdf) file format.
    3. Figures and tables are properly embedded in the text.
    4. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.

    Authors who publish with this journal agree to the following terms:



    1. Authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal.


    2. Authors are able to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of the work (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgement of its initial publication in this journal.


    3. Authors are permitted and encouraged to post their work online (e.g., in institutional repositories or on their website) prior to and during the submission process, as it can lead to productive exchanges, as well as earlier and greater citation of published work (See The Effect of Open Access).
